Event Coordinator

About the role

We’re looking for an Art Director to help craft a new game at Snowman. You’ll be working alongside a tight-knit team and leading the way to define the visual identity of an exciting new title. The position is perfect for intermediate-level artists and art directors with extensive experience under their belt. This is a short-term contract position (4-6 weeks) with possibility for extension. You can expect to be working primarily out of our studio in downtown Toronto with some flexibility to work remotely on occasion.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold and champion Snowman’s high visual standards.
  • Develop high quality concepts that inspire our team and define an iconic game world.
  • Capture and create eye-catching marketing assets.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all art-related decisions.

Skills

  • Proficiency in both 2D and 3D art creation from concept to final phase.
  • Experience creating a cohesive visual style across various game elements.
  • Understanding of lighting, shading and rendering techniques in Unity.
  • Expertise in industry-standard software such as Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Ability to solve complex visual and technical challenges creatively and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate artistic vision.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years experience as a professional visual artist and/or in a similar role.
  • A portfolio showcasing a range of artistic styles and high-quality work.
  • Based in Ontario and able to commute to our studio regularly.
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada.

Nice to Haves

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Animation experience and a good understanding of motion.
  • Understanding of UX and UI design principles.
  • Knowledge of Python, MEL, MAX Script or a programming language (C++, C#, etc.)
  • Coaching and mentoring skills.
