In a rapidly evolving business landscape where flexibility and community have become the new cornerstones of work, Meghna Agarwal, Co-founder of IndiQube, stands out as a leader redefining how workspace solutions empower growing companies.
Speaking at Mashable Mornings, Meghna shared her journey, lessons from building one of India’s largest managed office spaces platforms, and her views on leadership, culture, and the future of work.
Armed with an MBA in Finance from IMT Ghaziabad and a Company Secretary degree from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Meghna Agarwal’s journey reflects a blend of strategic acumen and entrepreneurial spirit.
Her foray into entrepreneurship began at just 25, when she co-founded HirePro Consulting with the vision of making hiring frictionless. The venture gave her firsthand exposure to the challenges of scaling a business, managing people, and creating processes from scratch.
In 2009, she went on to establish Ultrafine Minerals, a leading manufacturer catering to the cable, polymer, plastic, and paper industries, further deepening her operational and business understanding across sectors.
Today, beyond IndiQube, Meghna is an angel investor in innovative startups such as Brick & Bolt and an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) – a global leadership community of chief executives who are committed to lifelong learning and growth.
Her diverse experience across sectors and networks has shaped a leadership style that is both people-centric and performance-driven.
“Back in 2015, coworking was still a niche concept in India. There were either business centers or long-term leases, nothing in between for startups that wanted agility and scalability,” she recalled.
That gap inspired the birth of IndiQube, alongside co-founder Rishi Das. Their mission was clear: create an ecosystem where businesses could start small and grow seamlessly without the friction of real estate logistics.
From its first property in Bangalore, IndiQube has today expanded across multiple cities, hosting startups, scale-ups, and enterprises alike. The company’s journey mirrors the transformation of India’s startup economy itself – dynamic, ambitious, and built on innovation through enterprise workspace solutions.
At the heart of IndiQube’s success is a simple principle: people first. Meghna emphasized that office spaces are more than just physical infrastructure, they’re about enabling experiences.
“The most important thing is to create an environment where people feel connected, safe, and inspired to do their best work,” she said.
That ethos reflects in how IndiQube designs its spaces. Each workspace is tailored to a client’s culture and growth stage, whether it’s a 20-member startup or a 2,000-member enterprise. Amenities like wellness zones, recreation areas, cafeterias, and sustainability-driven features are integrated not as luxuries, but as enablers of productivity and belonging.
“Employees today look for meaning, not just money,” Meghna added. “As workspace providers, we play a role in fostering that emotional connection between people and their work.”
One of the recurring themes in Meghna’s leadership philosophy is culture. For her, culture isn’t a poster on the wall, it’s how teams behave when no one’s watching.
“When we started IndiQube, we didn’t have fancy policies or a large HR team. What we did have was intent – to build a culture of ownership and empathy,” she shared.
This intent guided IndiQube’s evolution, ensuring the company retained its agility even as it scaled. Meghna believes that a strong culture allows teams to handle ambiguity and growth challenges with resilience.
She’s quick to add that culture isn’t static. “You need to keep re-aligning your culture as the organization evolves. What works for a 50-member team won’t work for 500,” she said.
When asked about her leadership mantra, Meghna reflected on two traits she holds dear – humility and curiosity.
“No matter how much you achieve, there’s always something new to learn. Being humble allows you to listen, adapt, and grow. And being curious keeps you relevant,” she said.
She also highlighted the importance of delegation and trust in leadership. “As founders, we often try to do everything ourselves, but sustainable growth comes when you empower others to take ownership.”
Her advice to emerging leaders is to invest in people, not just processes. “You can always fix an idea or a business model, but fixing a toxic culture is much harder. Focus on building people who will build your business.”
The past few years have tested every industry, and the flexible workspace sector was no exception. From the pandemic to hybrid work transitions, adaptability became a necessity.
For IndiQube, resilience came from staying close to its customers. “When COVID hit, we had to reimagine how people use office spaces. We introduced short-term leases, flexible seating models, and stronger health and safety protocols,” Meghna said.
The company also accelerated digital transformation, launching the MiQube app, which enables clients to book meeting rooms, manage parking slots, and access community features.
“These weren’t just reactive steps. They were part of a larger belief that the future of work is hybrid, and we must create solutions that empower both organizations and individuals,” she added.
Beyond her role as an entrepreneur, Meghna is also a wife and mother – roles she embraces with the same intentionality that defines her professional life.
“Life doesn’t come in neat boxes. There are days when work takes priority and days when family does and that balance is perfectly fine,” she shared.
She credits her support system both at home and within IndiQube for helping her stay grounded and focused. “Having people around you who understand your journey makes all the difference. It’s not about doing everything yourself; it’s about doing the right things with the right support.”
To unwind, Meghna enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling, and reading about leadership and psychology – subjects that continue to inspire her approach to people and business.
As a woman leader, she hopes her story encourages others to pursue their ambitions without guilt or hesitation. “You don’t have to fit into a mold to succeed. Bring your authentic self to whatever you do,” she said.
Looking ahead, Meghna envisions IndiQube as a platform-driven ecosystem that goes beyond providing physical spaces. The goal is to create an integrated experience combining technology, design, and community to help businesses thrive.
“Workspaces will increasingly become experience centers – places where people collaborate, innovate, and connect with purpose,” she said.
Sustainability, too, is a key focus. From solar power adoption to waste management initiatives, IndiQube continues to align its growth with environmental responsibility.
Reflecting on IndiQube’s journey, Meghna sees it not merely as a business success story, but as a platform that has empowered thousands of professionals and entrepreneurs.
“Our purpose has always been to create spaces that adapt to people, not the other way around,” she said. “When our clients grow from a 10-member startup to a 1,000-member company, we feel we’ve grown with them.”
Her closing thoughts summed up the essence of her philosophy: “Every challenge teaches you something new. Keep learning, stay grounded, and never lose sight of why you started.”
