Meghna Agarwal became an entrepreneur ‘by accident’. Growing up in Alwar, Rajasthan, she prepared herself for a professional career with an MBA and a Company Secretary qualification. The difficult job market following the 9/11 attacks changed the course of her career and led her towards entrepreneurship. In late 2003, at the age of 25, she co-founded HirePro Consulting, a recruitment platform, shortly after marrying Rishi Das, founder of CareerNet.

The story of Meghna’s entry into the workspace business was just as unexpected. Meghna and Rishi Das were running their ventures from the same building along Bengaluru’s Outer Ring Road and had leased some of the excess space to startups. When Meghna needed more space for her own firm, the companies using the premises were reluctant to move and suggested recreating the same setup elsewhere. She took over a 150,000-square-foot building across the road, which was filled within months. With no previous experience in real estate, Meghna recognised the potential for plug-and-play, flexible workspaces and co-founded IndiQube in 2015.

What started as an unexpected opportunity developed into an integrated managed spaces platform. Today, IndiQube manages 10.61 million square feet of office space across 17 cities, with Fortune 500 companies among its clients. The company went public in 2025, marking an important milestone in its journey and reinforcing the role of flexibility in the future of workspaces. In FY26, IndiQube’s revenue grew 37 per cent to Rs 1,469 crore.

Meghna’s vision for IndiQube extends beyond conventional office spaces. She sees opportunities to explore other areas such as retail and hospitality, essentially businesses connected with space. A key part of her approach is frugality. For Meghna, being frugal is not about being cheap; it is about being conscious of costs and ensuring efficiency across the business.

For women building their careers and businesses, Meghna believes in what she describes as the 4 Cs: Clarity, Control, Communication and Consistency. Clarity is about knowing what you want to do, while Control means taking charge of your life. Communication helps build relationships and opportunities, and Consistency becomes important as different stages of life, including marriage, children and ageing parents, can sometimes require women to slow down.
